$100 Travel Vouchers for Tasmanians

Plan a spring adventure on the water and let the Tassie Government help pay for it.

The Eat Local, Stay Local voucher initiative is back for 2025 offering $100 travel vouchers for Tasmanians to support local tourism during the quieter months. This is your chance to score one of the travel vouchers to spend on eligible tourism experiences, accommodation, and travel.

Registrations open soon and numbers are limited. If you’re lucky enough to be selected, you can use your voucher to book one of our wildlife boat tours this spring.

Use your voucher for a boat adventure between end of September and end of October

Every year, we have a winter break for a few weeks from July onwards and resume tours in mid-September, right in the middle of the voucher redemption window (1 July to 31 October 2025). Spring is one of the best times of year to explore the coast, with humpback and southern right whales migrating past, seals lounging on the rocks, and seabirds circling overhead.

If you’re looking for things to do with your travel voucher, this is your sign to book a scenic, small-group boat tour and reconnect with the wild.

How it works

  • Voucher value: $100 per person
  • Eligible travel period: 1 July – 31 October 2025
  • Registrations open: 10 am Monday, 2 June 2025
  • Registrations close: 5 pm Monday, 16 June 2025
  • Who’s eligible: Tasmanian residents aged 18+
  • Activities must be booked and completed during the eligible period

How to redeem your voucher

If you’re selected through the ballot, you’ll receive a unique claim number. After completing your eligible activity, you can claim your $100 reimbursement by submitting a short form online.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Your claim number (which is provided to you when you’re selected)
  • A proof of purchase (e.g. paid receipt or tax invoice showing activity date, business name, and amount paid)
  • Your bank account details for the reimbursement

You can only make one claim per voucher, and the activity must cost at least $50. All redemptions must be submitted by 30 November 2025, ideally within 30 days of your tour.

Why book a spring boat tour?

September and October are a great time to be on the water. Whales are migrating through the area, seals are active along the coast, and there’s plenty of birdlife to spot. It’s a quieter time of year too, which means more space to take it all in.

Use your $100 travel voucher to join a small boat tour and experience the coastline from a new perspective, right when everything starts to come back to life.

Seats are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your preferred date.
