Holiday season is coming up and we’ll be operati Holiday season is coming up and we’ll be operating daily including on public holidays! 💙🙌 We couldn’t think of anything better than spending our days on the water! Join us for a snorkel with the seals or a scenic tour in search for marine mammals! The Humpback Whale migration is slowly coming to an end now, but we still get to see them every other day. The Killer Whales have made a visit again yesterday, so they’re obviously liking it here at the moment. 😊 #lovetheocean #wildoceantasmania
Our favourite photo of our Orca encounter the othe Our favourite photo of our Orca encounter the other day - One of the females had a very distinct dorsal fin and a well developed calf by her side. 💙

We had another visit of a pod of Killer Whales aga We had another visit of a pod of Killer Whales again yesterday AND today! 🙌 The large male is known as EA0057. It’s the same one we saw on this coast end of November. He had 4 other individuals with him, at least two of them are known to the database of @killerwhalesaustralia , but yet to be catalogued.
Wow we can’t believe it’s December already! We Wow we can’t believe it’s December already! We’ve been flat out with tours and whale watching and we’re overwhelmed by the support that we’ve received from all you local crew who have joined our tour over the last few months. Not only have you helped a small business survive in these uncertain times, but you’ve also facilitated the research projects we’re involved with! 🙏💙 Some of you lovely people have asked, if we are doing another calendar this year. YES, WE ARE! And they’re currently being printed. ☺️ This years calendar is going to be a special black & white edition of the whales we’ve sighted during this outstanding whale season. 🐋 It’ll look awesome in any kitchen, office or study room. So if you like to have a memory of your tour with us or you’re after a gift for an Ocean-loving friend, hit us up! D + S #lovetheoceans
Today, we can only dream of calm conditions like t Today, we can only dream of calm conditions like these! It’s blowing a gale here in the south east of Tassie, so no tours for us today, but Thursday and Friday are looking good and we still have availabilities. Book online or message us on Insta if you’re keen to get out on the water this week. 💙
One of the Killer Whales that we’ve sighted yest One of the Killer Whales that we’ve sighted yesterday has now been confirmed by @killerwhalesaustralia to be EA_0057, an individual well-known to the southeast coast of Tasmania. This large male was first sighted in 2015 off Fortescue Bay and has been visiting the region regularly since. @killerwhalesaustralia are still trying to identify the accompanying animals, but it seems that they are not known to the catalogue. Photos that have been taken of the females are therefore of high value.
Our guess has now been confirmed by @killerwhalesa Our guess has now been confirmed by @killerwhalesaustralia that all three of the Killer Whales we saw on Thursday are old ‘friends’ that we’ve spotted in recent years. Two of the Killer Whales are listed in the East Australian Killer Whale Catalogue as EA_0060 and EA_0062 and one is yet to be catalogued. At all sightings since 2017, these three animals have been sighted together as one family group. 💙
